Gathering Inspiration with Arhaus

Over the weekend, I browsed around on of my favorite shopping areas, Tysons Corner - where all of my go to home decor stores are next to each other. I love soaking up the endless inspiration!

Today, I'm talking about Arhaus! I love the mixture of eclectic with modern touches and use of natural materials.

I was instantly drawn to the Pavo Sectional. We've been looking for sofas casually for a few years (I'm pretty picky, it has to be comfortable and solidly built!) Now that we're moving into our home soon (verse apartment living), and ready to purchase a few investment pieces, we'll be picking out a sofa or two soon! Wouldn't this be perfect for relaxing in our TV room downstairs -  I love the deep seating! I was super impressed with the comfort and quality.

Love the Clancy Daybed - perfect for dividing a long living room, yet keeping it open, like The Makerista did here.

After this winter, I'm dreaming of having barbecues outside! Love the mix of woven rattan with the clean modern lines of the concrete table and benches. Portland Dining Chair and Julian Outdoor Concrete Bench and table

I also love the Metro Outdoor Chair and Ottoman - love the warm oatmeal fabric paired with the clean lines of the arms and base. It certainly doesn't look like outdoor furniture! Those poufs are pretty great too - I can't resist a good print!

Also, while browsing online, I found a few more favorites that I didn't see in store.

1. Tansy Chair // 2. Grace Rocking Chair // 3.  Round Pouf in White and Blue // 4. Moroccan rug

Couldn't you see designed a room around these pieces? Love them!

Arhaus is currently running a contest to Pin Your Dream Outdoor Oasis contest on Pinterest - for a chance to win a $250, $500, or $1000 gift card (Ends March 28th), check out Arhaus' blog for all the details!

This post was created in collaboration with Arhaus - all thoughts and opinions are sincerely my own. I only choose to share brands that I love and have had a great experience with!

Shopping with Sarah | Hobby Lobby

On today's Shopping with Sarah, I'm sharing what I'd buy at Hobby Lobby! Thanks so much to Jennifer for suggesting that! I go to Hobby Lobby fairly often - mostly to buy craft supplies, but I always like browsing their home accessories.

First up, this gallery wall print booklet. Last week Dwellings by Devore posted that Hobby Lobby had a collection of gallery wall prints for just $7.50 (normal price is $14.99) It wasn't on sale at my Hobby Lobby, but I was able to use a 40% off coupon (just google Hobby Lobby coupon and it will pop up) and got it for $8 something. Thanks so much Bethany for finding that - such a good deal!!

The pads are 14-18 pages (prints sized 4x6 to 11x14) and most pages include multiple prints that you tear out. I picked up the one on the left (photo below). Lots of gold leaf prints included!! There are also a few suggestions for how to hang the prints if you're looking for some ideas.

(p.s. I did purchase bells that day too .. I didn't mean to put them in the photo, but we are using them in hopes that the puppy will learn to ring them when she has to potty - we are ringing them with her paw before she goes out. She rang them twice yesterday, but I think it was unintentional, hopefully it will catch on soon!)

These starbursts are great (I prefer the small size here)! Target also has a black and gold set that is great too!

Love this geometric lantern - perfect for candles, maybe succulents or maybe wire it and hang it as a small pendant light.

Love this diamond - wouldn't it be perfect on a large stack of books or on a bookshelf.

I didn't walk around the whole store - so I'm sure more would have caught my eye!

I also like to buy upholstery foam by the roll here, with a 40% off coupon, it's pretty inexpensive. Though it is a lower density foam than Joanns (which is pricier), but I think it's fine for benches or dining chairs, etc.  that you don't use everyday.

What else do you like buying at Hobby Lobby? If you have a store that you'd like to see what I'd buy, let me know!

Shopping with Sarah | Home Goods + Ross

I haven't posted a Shopping with Sarah recently, so I thought it was time!

Up first, Home Goods. I always find something that I want to take home with me!

How amazing is this gold starburst with marble base!? It's huge! The garden stool is probably about 18" tall, so the starburst is about 24" - 30" tall!  $59.99

Love this framed agate!! $39.99

Up next, Ross.

I don't go in Ross very often, but recently I've been finding some amazing things, so I think I need to go more often!

Blue and white pots. $7.99!!

Loving this metal circle stool! $59.99

Eames knock off chair, on sale for $42!

Caitlin Wilson look-a-like gold floral pillow. $7.99! It's poly filled with no zipper. I prefer a down insert, but at that price, it might be worth taking it apart and adding a down insert.

Any store where you'd like to see what I'd pick? Where are some of your favorite unexpected places to shop? Leave it in the comments below!

Everything But The House | Online Estate and Consignment Sale + Giveaway

You know what I love the most about thrifting? The hunt. I love walking in, quickly scanning the room - you never know what you'll find (at an amazing price!) Many times, I leave empty handed, but finding an amazing piece every once and a while keeps me coming back for more!

In the past year, I've had pretty good luck at my thrift stores, but I know that everyone isn't as lucky, so when I was introduced to Everything But The House, I was instantly intrigued. Amazing items at reasonable prices for everyone! I love their tagline - the thrill of discovery (much like the thrill of the hunt from thrifting, but at the click of a finger!) EBTH is an auction site and sales last for a few days. EBTH is located in Cincinnati OH, Columbus OH, Indianapolis IN, Lexington KY, Louisville KY, and Nashville TN (new cities coming in 2015!) But if you don't live in those cities, shipping is available! As you can imagine, shipping is pricey for larger, heavy items, but smaller, easy to ship items are pretty affordable.

Here are my top picks! I would LOVE to have any of these in my home!! (selected across all sales, location of the item is on the listing)

porcelain lidded jars // turquoise and black vase // original figure drawings // mid century modern candelabra //  mid century modern dining chairs // S letter // pair of twin peacock headboards // vintage carved quartz horse bookends // original portrait watercolor // mid century modern lamp  // chinese chippendale chair //  henry link faux bamboo dresser (other favorites not in photo: mid century modern bamboo mirrors // marble foo dogs)

Wow!! Right?! The current bid on most of these items is pretty low, most of the items have a few days left, so the end price just depends on who's bidding. If you purchase any of these items, let me know. I'd love to see pics of them in your home!

Ready to shop? EBTH is giving away a $100 credit to one lucky Sarah M. Dorsey Designs reader. Open to US only for one week. Winner will be announced next Wednesday! Enter on the widget below. Good luck!

Thanks so much to Everything But The House for introducing me to their site and for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.

Shopping with Sarah | Ross

I haven't been to Ross in a while and WOW! did I find some pretty great things!! I think everything below was under $35! I'll add prices where I remember.

Pair of rattan chairs ($35 or $40 each) leave them as is or spray paint them! // I almost bought these geometric lamps for our TN bedroom (perfect for a nightstand!) ($25 each) teal pillar light was so good too! ($35) // gold mirrored serving tray and silver hand (the fingers were a little odd, but it was only $7! great on a stack of books or on a shelf) // Child size rattan chair (love the shape!) // lacquer tall floor pillar ($25) love the fox and chess piece too! // large gold vase

So, have you found some unexpected finds recently? I'm always looking for new places to look!

Home Goods Happy

Hi! My schedule's a little off.. It's hard getting things done when you have stuff in three different locations! I'm still in Maryland due to the snow delaying my car getting worked on .. I should be back to Ohio tomorrow.

In the meantime, I'm sharing some of my favorite Home Goods finds! First, RUGS, oh my gosh, the selection was amazing.

I picked up this 8x10 Tahari rug for our new house. I LOVE it, but I'm second guessing myself since I typically like lighter rugs ..

These are all in the accent rug section. Love love love!! I think these were priced $15-$40.

Gorgeous upholstered headboard. $299 for a queen.

Lots of fun upholstered benches too!!

Shopping at Marshalls

Hi! I hope that your week is off to a great start! Yesterday, I had some time to run a few errands which included picking up some real food for dinner. I haven't cooked much in the last month because I've been busy with Creating with the Stars. But last night we had soy ginger mahi mahi, asparagus and sweet potato, yum!

Marshall's is right next to Trader Joes, so I had to make a stop there too!  Here are a few of my favorites from yesterday's trip.

Large tufted ottoman, I think it was only $150, such a great price!!

Large Ikat print, reminiscent of this West Elm print Marshalls has really improved on their pillow selection recently, a lot more down inserts and current fabrics! This one came home with me :) $16.99

Wood and black and white upholstered accent chair. These could look fabulous around a dining table!

Large round jute rug. Yes please! I rarely see these at Marshalls/TJ Maxx, now I just wish that I had someplace to put it! $59.99

Great finds, right? I wish I could of taken them all home!

What's caught my eye | Target + Marshalls

Hope you all had a great weekend! We spent a lot of ours planning and working on our submission for Creating with the Stars. We now have something in the works, hopefully it turns out!

I forgot to specify on Friday, that I can't share any details of what I'm submitting since all entries are anonymous. That means I can't use anything that you've seen, and since you've seen almost ever corner of our place, we'll have to take some things down to create a staging area. The first project entries will be posted next Monday! eek!

Today I thought I would share a few things that have caught my eye recently. Read on to window shop with me :)

Target consistently has great home decor items and is always one of my favorite places to look!

I love this mix of wood, white and punches of color. The wood brings in texture and warmth while the white and colors keep it fun and fresh.

White seersucker duvet. You can't really tell from the photo, but it looks so nice in person! I love the texture that it would add to a bed!

Square mercury glass lamp base. Love the height!

Coral chambray and graphic print duvet covers. Fun additions to their spring bedding lines!

Ombre velvet bolster pillow

Fretwork drapery panel (wish they were a little longer than 84" - I like mine ~90" for our 8' ceilings, maybe a chartreuse panel at the top to lengthen them?)

and finally a few toss pillows from Marshalls! Love all the bright colors!

** I wasn't paid or perked for this post, I just like to share what catches my eye :)

What did I miss? What amazing things have your found recently?
