Entry Gallery Wall | Hump Day Giveaway | Free Downloads

Hi! Happy Hump Day! Today I'm sharing a little more info about the gallery wall for our entry.

Everything was DIYed except the D and S metal letters, which are from Pottery Barn. Love them!! They definitely make the gallery wall!

I love the size and thickness, the quality was also nice. For the ampersand, we glued left over driftwood to a thin piece of plywood and cut it out with a jigsaw.

A few week's ago, I photographed a few succulents - love the natural/organic element that it adds.

I recreated this amazing For Like Ever print and adjusted the proportions so it would work with my 16x20 frame.

Using Sarah Swanson's $10 gallery wall prints as inspiration, I created a simple watercolor. If you're looking for affordable gallery wall prints, make sure to check out Sarah's Etsy shop, amazing selection!!

p.s. Since my printer isn't working - I got all of my prints done at Staples. Looking online, "photo enlargements" was the cheapest option for larger color prints. I believe 16x20 was $10, total for all the prints was under $20. The print quality was nice!

House Update + Hump Day Giveaway Printable

Hey! Are you having a good week? I hope so :) Today I wanted to share a little bit from our weekend. We were in Maryland working on our entry.. It's definitely taking longer than we hoped, but we're getting close!

We found these poppies in our front yard, it's been fun seeing what's popped up this spring! Bud vases from Pottery Barn 

I took this pic right before we started working Saturday morning.

We left off about a month ago with almost all the tile laid out - we just had to cut the edge tiles. So we marked and cut on a tile saw. We opted to purchase verse renting since we're planning a few more tile projects and figured that it would save money in the end. We went with this mid priced one from Home Depot. In store, it seemed sturdy and well built. We've found that it's typically best to go with at least mid priced tools to save the aggravation of the tool not working properly or breaking (also check online reviews!) .. in the end it saves money!

It worked perfectly! We got all of the tile cut..

Since the baseboard trim doesn't cover the beams, it needs to be flush on those areas. There were some tricky cuts! (the edges just laid out in this pic so the spacing is a little off) Collapsible baskets from Pottery Barn and yellow garden stool from Home Goods.

I LOVE it!! Can't wait to finish this room - hopefully by the beginning of July!!

David also hung the Capri Pendant from Kenroy Home. Love it!!

Knoxville welcomes us | Vintage Faux Bamboo Chair + TJ Maxx + Trader Joes + a FREE Printable

Hi! Yesterday I was browsing Craigslist (a must for when you're in a new city, right?) and found an amazing faux bamboo cane slipper chair. I sold my caning chair before we left CA and I miss it. So I decided that this would be perfect! At $85, it was a little more than I'd normally spend, but it was in great condition.

We may still have boxes everywhere, but David happily agreed to go with me to pick it up. Now, to paint or not to paint?

Knoxville has given use a warm welcome with vintage furniture AND with TJ Maxx, I found a look-a-like of my favorite Trina Turk pillow for $14.99!

AND Knoxville has gotten a Trader Joes since we were here last! So excited for the flowers and for meal planning. I got so used to meal planning using Trader Joes while in CA, dinner hasn't been the same since .. happy to have one that's close!

and on an unrelated note, our laundry issues continue. Our rental in TN came with a washer / dryer and a major mold / mildew / dirt issue in the washer. Looks like the last person didn't know that you have to leave the door open when not in use and wipe out the rubber gasket. I've gotten some great tips on Instagram, thanks IG friends!! I haven't tried them all yet, but I plan to today. I got all of the chunks, yes I said chunks of dirt out of the gasket. Ran the sanitary cycle multiple times with bleach, white vinegar, Tide washing machine cleaner (not together) .. and it's looking and smelling much better. I'm still kinda scared what's where I can't see .. The gasket has a mildew stain that I can't get out, any suggestions?
