Here's a living room that I created!
View all the rooms and designers here.
Over the weekend we worked on painting the living room and reupholstering a sofa (wish us luck!!) To catch the staples, we used a mechanic magnetic tray (like this) David has one from working on cars to hold nuts, bolts, tools, etc. while you're working on a car. Normally, I find staples on the floor weeks after - this makes it super easy to keep them all together. I just throw it in the general direction and for the most part it goes in .. it's also great for finding staples on the ground, you just run the base along the floor and it picks them up!
Here's a before pic.
And a pic of our progress. We got all of the primer finished (still need to caulk and the top coat.) For the sofa, we removed all of the upholstery and the rolled arms (we'll be rebuilding the arms so that they're straight.)
We were originally going to buy a sofa, but we found this for $10, the size was perfect and the shape was very comparable to the one we were going to buy .. like Brittany said yesterday, it's the DIY curse .. hey! I can make that and not spend $2,000+ .. fabric and supplies will probably come in around $200
I'm loving the oversized art, molding and hunter green sofa!

Too often, I get wrapped up in complicated .. time consuming projects. I'm working on sharing more quick, but big impact projects. This medallion box from Courtney at A Thoughtful Place is just that! It looks like a million bucks, but it's SUPER easy!! See the full tutorial here

Love love love this Vince accent stool from Pottery Barn! The texture, hexagon, antique brass finish, and it's made from hardwood, so it should be lighter than a ceramic garden stool.
I'm loving this runner from Urban Outfitters!! At $44, it's very affordable! I'd love to have this in my kitchen ..
Hope you have a great weekend! We're in the middle of TONS of projects for our Maryland living room, so we'll be working on that! See you next week!
